Tech Steel Industries (TSI) is a SSI unit registered with District Industries Centre, Ernakulam, Kerala, for manufacturing Bolts, Nuts, Rivets and related engineering products. TSI has been in operations since 1971 and has their manufacturing facility located at Kuruppampady, near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam District. TSI had been a regular supplier of steel products to Southern Railways during 1970’s and 1980’s. Since early 1990’s, we have shifted our focus towards production of bolts and nuts, mainly to cater to the local demand.

TSI manufactures most of its products at an 8,000 Sft manufacturing facility at Kuruppampady. This facility also includes 1,500 Sft for storage of finished goods. Tech Fastners (TF), a sister concern of TSI, also has a 3,000 Sft manufacturing facility at Mini Industrial Estate, Kuruppampady. This unit also manufactures bolts and nuts of various types. There are machinery for both hot forging and cold forging operations. For cold forging operations, we have trimming machines and thread rollers of various types. For hot forging operations, we have furnaces and thread rollers of large sizes. The larger size bolts are manufactured from rounds after drawing to right sizes. The smaller size bolts are manufactured from wire rods drawn to right sizes.

TSI purchases most of its raw material from Rashtirya Ispat Nigam Limited’s Vishakapatnam Steel Plant. The material is taken from RINL’s Kalamassery yard. The purchase is routed through National Small Industries Corporation Limited’s (NSIC’s) Ernakulam branch. The material is transported using trucks and delivered as wire rods at our manufacturing facility.

We are regular suppliers of bolts and nuts to various sections under Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). We also supply our products to SILK (Steel Industrials Kerala Limited), Ottapalam. However, a major part of our customers remain to be private buyers in and around Ernakulam. We manufacture and supply about 500-600 tons of fasteners every year.

TSI has been a partnership firm since 1973. The company has been founded and continues to be under the stewardship of Shri. K. C. Paulose and Ms. Lovely Paulose, Engineering graduates from REC, Calicut and Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kotamamangalam respectively.
